FasTags are just as strong as regular plastic pet id tags and the lettering is covered with a protective adhesive. FasTags can even outlast regular engraved tags! FasTags attach to any collar with either a split ring or a S-hook (both are included).
FAQs
What do I use to write on the FasTag?
Only permanent marking pens work on FasTags. We recommend the FasTags marking pen, or the Sharpie Ultra Fine Permanent Marking Pen.
Will they break?
FasTags shrink down to a very hard density and are just as strong as regular plastic pet id tags.
How long does the lettering last?
FasTags lettering is covered with a protective adhesive. Our tests have shown that the lettering lasts as long and can even outlast regular engraved tags!
How do they attach to the collar?
Just like regular engraved tags the FasTag attaches with either a split ring or a S-hook (both included).
Isn't it hard to write clearly on the tag?
No. You write on the tag before it is shrunk when it is about 3 inches tall and you write in big letters. Guide lines are embedded in the tag to make it easy for you.
May I make them with my children?
Children love to make FasTags. Just make sure you supervise the entire time since you are working with a hot oven!
Instructions (included with each FasTag)
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F for at least 10 minutes. Practice writing your pet's information on the picture provided. Place your tag over the picture and trace your writing onto the tag with a permanent marker. Use large letters, they shrink better. After your oven is fully preheated, place the cardboard on a cookie sheet, then place the white paper sheet on top of the cardboard. Insert the cookie sheet, cardboard, and paper into the oven for 1 minute. Carefully place your FasTag face-up on top of the preheated white paper and cardboard on the cookie sheet. Bake for 5-6 minutes. The tag is finished when it is the size shown on the back of the packaging. Remove from oven. Let cool completely. Then place the clear sticker over the printed area. Attach the S-hook or O-ring and you are done!
